Abstract: Paper chromatography was performed with four different color food dye (yellow, red, blue, green) and one unknown which is the m&m color. And evaluated under two different solvent systems. The first solvent is alcohol which is the control group and the second solvent is water which is the experimental group. Each of these different colors were tested for distance of substance and distance of solvent front. It was proven that unknown are mixtures of the four food dyes mentioned above.
